Windows Mobile 5 for the MPX200 Upgrade Procedure. PLEASE REMEMBER DO NOT TYPE THE ACTUAL QUOTATIONS 1-Make sure you have connected your device in Flash mode, and that it has a full Battery, No SIM Card, and No Memory Card in it. If your device is connected correctly, it should show up in your Device Manager as Smartphone 2002... Nothing will show on your phone. To make your device go into flash mode, just hold the left direction, and hit the power button. Your device will flicker for a second, but nothing will show up, it will seem as though it is still turned off, now connect it to the computer, and confirm it is connected. 2-Go to a command Prompt, and type "cd\2005" and hit enter. It will bring you to the folder we want to be at, should look like this C:\2005> 3-Type "dark5 part1.bin" and hit enter, it should come up with a Screen telling you your Hardware FingerPrint, and asking you to enter a User Name and a Key. Send me your Hardware Fingerprint, and I will send you your Username and Key, once entered, it will not ask again. 4-Once you have entered the key it should find your phone, and begin to flash your device, it will have a progress indicator, showing the percentage completed. 5-When it Finishes, disconnect your device, remove the battery, then put the battery back in, and while holding the Center Action (Blue Button) in, press the power button, it should come up with a screen asking you if you want to Master Reset, select Yes, it will format the device, and then come up with a screen giving you your Device ID. Once that screen comes up, remove the battery, and then put it back in. 6-Put your SD Card in the phone now, and again connect it in Flash mode to the computer. Go back to the Command prompt that you left open, and now type "dark5 part2.bin" and hit enter. It will start to flash your device again, with a progress indicator telling you how far along it is. 7-Once it finishes, DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR DEVICE, type "dark5 part3.bin" and hit enter, it will flash your device and finish very quickly. 8-Now when everything is finished flashing, disconnect your device, pull the battery out, and put your SIM Card in, now put your battery back in, and again hold the Center Blue Action Key in for 3 Seconds, and hit the power button. It will be a new screen with some writing on the top, you the directional pad to select the "Clean Reg Hive" hit the center Blue Action Key to Change from No to a Yes. Now move one down to the "Format Storage" and also hit the action key to change it to a Yes. Now move one more down, to the "Done" and hit the Action key. You device will have a White Screen, and it will stay like this for a few minutes while it preps your device. 9-Thats it, I would recommend installing Resco Explorer, as it is the one thing it seems to be missing, a good explorer. ENJOY!! If your device does not start up after the White Screen after 10 minutes, then remove the battery, and try step 8 again. If it still does not boot up, then use another SD Card, I have found that 256MB and 1GB cards work very well, but for some reason 512mb cards are not as good.
