Setting the Publishing Server options in the Administer Website dialog box

The purpose of this dialog box is to enable or disable CPS for your website.

CPS is a suite of publishing and user management services that enables you, among other things, to integrate Contribute with your organization’s user directory service so that you can easily manage large numbers of Contribute users.

Enable CPS

Click the Enable Publishing Server button to enable your website to use CPS.

Note: Before you can start using CPS with your website, you must install and configure CPS (see CPS Console Help for information about configuring).

Disable CPS or modify your settings

 Do any of the following:
  • Click the Disable Publishing Server button to disable CPS for this website.

A dialog box that asks you to confirm disabling CPS appears.

When you disable CPS, users who were connected to the website cannot connect until you re-enable CPS. Contribute does not remove the administrative settings file for the website when you disable CPS, so roles and permissions are unaffected.

  • Click the Disable User Directory button if you do not want to use the User Directory service to manage users for this website.

When you disable the User Directory service, users who were connected to the website cannot connect until you send them connection keys with new connection information.
