Setting the New Pages options in the Role Settings dialog box

Use the New Pages category to specify whether users can create blank pages or create duplicate pages by copying the current page. You can also define which Dreamweaver templates users are able to see and use.

  1. Change the types of new pages that users can create as necessary:

    Create a blank page
    lets users create blank pages.

    Use built-in starter pages
lets users create and modify copies of preexisting sample pages that are provided with Contribute.

Create a new page by copying any page on the website
lets users create and modify a copy of an existing page on the website.

Create a new page by copying a page from this list
lets users create pages based on a set of pages that you specify.

    Use Dreamweaver templates
lets users create pages based on templates created in Dreamweaver, usually by a web page designer or other web professional, that have defined editable and non-editable regions. Such pages ensure a consistent look and feel throughout a website and let users update only specific areas of text and specific images. Dreamweaver templates are stored as files with a .dwt filename extension, in a folder called Templates in the root folder of a website. For more information about Dreamweaver templates, see Dreamweaver Help.

  2. If you select Use Dreamweaver templates, select one of the following:

    Show users all templates
allows users to see all the available templates.

    Only show users these templates
displays only certain templates to users. If you select this option, you can select templates and use the Hide and Show buttons to move the templates between the Hidden templates list and the Only show users these templates list.

  3. Repeat until all the templates you want to display to users of the role are visible in the Only show users these templates list.

  4. Select another permissions category to modify, or click OK to apply your changes.
