Setting the Enable Publishing Server dialog box options

Use the Enable Publishing Server dialog box to enable CPS for your website.

  1. Enter the Publishing Server web address (URL) for the server running CPS.

The format for the web address is http://server:port/contribute/

    It contains the following components:

    • Server: This is the DNS name or IP address of the server on which CPS is installed.

    • Port: This is the network port number used by the server on which CPS is installed.

Note: If you used the CPS Simple installation, the port number is 8900. If you used the CPS WAR file installation in an existing Java Application Server, the port number varies with your server’s configuration.
    • Contribute: This is the name of the server. You must append contribute to the path.

For example, if you installed the CPS on a server named cpsserver, the web address would be https://cpsserver:8900/contribute.

  2. By default, the Enable User Directory check box is selected. If you will not use the User Directory service to manage users, deselect this option.

Note: When you enable the User Directory, any users who previously connected to the site are removed, and any connection keys you may have previously sent no longer work. You must add users from your LDAP/Active Directory, or file-based user database. To learn how to add users to sites that CPS manages, see Add users to websites that CPS manages.
  3. Click OK.

Contribute establishes a connection to the server.
