Completing the Find and Replace dialog box

Use the Find and Replace dialog box to search your draft for specific text and to search for and replace text in drafts.

Search for text

  1. In the Search for text box, type the text you want to find.

  2. Select Match case to limit the search to text that exactly matches the case of the text you type in the Search for text box.

    For example, if you type the brown derby in the text box, you will not find The Brown Derby.

  3. Click Find Next, then repeat until you finish searching the draft.

Search and replace text

  1. In the Search for text box, type the text you want to find.

  2. In the Replace with text box, type the replacement text.

  3. Select Match case to limit the search to text that exactly matches the case of the text you type in the Search for text box.

    For example, if you type the brown derby in the text box, you will not find The Brown Derby.

  4. Click Find Next.

  5. For each occurrence, select one of the following:

    • Replace replaces the current instance with the replacement text.

    • Replace All replaces all instances with the replacement text.

    • Find Next finds the next instance without changing the current instance.
