Setting Microsoft Office document preferences (Windows only)

Use the Microsoft Documents option in the Preferences dialog box to select a preference for inserting Microsoft documents.

  1. Select an option to specify the default action that Contribute performs when you insert a Microsoft document in a draft:
    Insert The Contents Of The Document Into The Current Draft
    Copies the content of the selected document into the draft.

    Create A Link To The Document
    Inserts a link to the selected document.

    Convert To PDF And Create A Link To The PDF
    Converts the selected document into a PDF and inserts a link to the PDF document.

    Convert To PDF And Embed The PDF As Object
    Converts the selected document into a PDF and embeds the PDF document as an object.

    Ask Whenever I Insert A Microsoft Office Document Into Contribute
    Lets you select how you want to insert the Office document.

  2. Click OK.
