Bitonal Profiles

Document Express Enterprise provides the following bitonal profiles that are customized for encoding bitonal images:

• bitonal600
• bitonal500
• bitonal400
• bitonal300 (default)
• bitonal200
• bitonal150
• bitonal100

Each bitonal profile includes a dpi (for example, 300). As a general rule, you should select a profile with a dpi that matches the dpi of the scanned image file. If an exact match is unavailable, choose a profile with a dpi that is slightly lower than that of the input image. The lower dpi may increase the quality of the resulting DjVu^® document. (The size of the DjVu file may also increase, however.)

NOTE: For image files that contain grayscale, use a color profile.
