Creating Hyperlinks |
You can create a hyperlink from a region, an image, or selected text, to another Mathcad file, another type of file, a Web page, or to a region within a Mathcad worksheet.

To Create a Hyperlink to a File |
Click on the image or region that you want to link from or select text that will be the link.
Choose Hyperlink from the Insert menu or right-click and choose Hyperlink.
In the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, click the "Browse" button to enter the path to the file or its Internet address (URL).
The default is "Use relative path for hyperlink."
Check "Display as pop-up document" if you want the target worksheet to open in a small popup window.
Type a message in the Message box that you want to appear in the status bar when the cursor hovers over the hyperlink.
Hyperlinked text selections appear underlined and bold. However, regions or images that are hyperlinked do not change in appearance.
When the cursor passes over any hyperlinked text, image, or region, it changes to a pointing hand to indicate there is a hyperlink. Double-clicking on the link opens the linked file.

Creating a Hyperlink to a Region |
Before you can link to a specific region in a worksheet, you must first mark it with a tag. A tag can be any collection of words, numbers, or spaces, but no symbols. A tag cannot have a period in it, such as Sec1.1 but you can write Sec1,1 or Sec1-1.
Right-click on the region in your worksheet.
Select Properties from the menu.
In the Properties dialog box, under the Display tab, type a name in the Tag box provided.
Now you can link to that region from within the worksheet or from any other worksheet.
Follow the same procedures for creating any other hyperlink.
At the end of the worksheet path, type "#" followed by the region tag. The complete path for your target region looks something like: C:\filename#region tag
If you are in the same worksheet, you do not need a worksheet path.

To Delete a Hyperlink |
Click anywhere in the region or selected text containing the link.
Choose Hyperlink from the Insert menu.
Click "Remove Link" in the Insert Hyperlink dialog box.
The text you selected is no longer underlined and bold, and the hand cursor no longer appears over the region.
When you create a hyperlink to another application or a region within a worksheet you can not display the file within a popup window.
We strongly recommend against using any math region or plot as a hyperlink. Double-clicking on a hyperlinked plot opens the hyperlink rather than the plot format dialog box.
