The spell-checker checks spelling in text regions, but not in math regions. The spell-checker considers a word misspelled when it is not found in its dictionary.

Changing the Spell-Checker Dictionaries |
You may change the dictionary used in spell-checking your worksheets. To do so, go to the Languages tab of the Preferences dialog under the Tools menu. There are a choice of nine different dictionaries.

The following options are available in the Check Spelling dialog box:
This word was not found in the dictionary. It may be misspelled.
Lists suggested replacements for the misspelled word. Select one and click "Change" to replace the misspelled word with the selected replacement.
Leaves the misspelled word as is. If you click "Ignore," the spell-checker ignores the word throughout the worksheet.
Changes the misspelled word to the suggested replacement in the "Change To" box.
Leaves the word as is, adds the word to your personal dictionary, and continues spell-checking. The spell-checker then considers it spelled correctly in the future.
Shows additional but less likely replacements. If Mathcad can not offer additional suggestions, "Suggest" is unavailable.
