Application Filters
ISA Server application filters provide an extra layer of security at the Microsoft Firewall service, and can perform protocol-specific or system-specific tasks, such as authentication and virus checking.

When you install ISA Server, several application filters are installed and enabled. After installation, you can configure the H.323 filter, SMTP filter, and SOCKS V4 filter. You can also configure the FTP Access filter, for specific rules.

You can perform the following tasks:

View and modify filter properties: In the details pane, select a filter, then on the Tasks tab, click Configure Selected Filter.
Disable a filter: In the details pane, select a filter, then on the Tasks tab, click Disable Selected Filter.
