Some data may not be rescued
Rescue Data does not guarantee to rescue all the data on your computer's internal HDD/SSD. Sony assumes no liability for any loss of your data arising out of the data rescue process.
- Corrupted data
You cannot rescue your data if the file information is corrupted or the file itself is corrupted.
- DRM-protected data
The software you used to download DRM-protected data (music data managed by music playback software) may be provided with its own backup tool to back up that data.
Before you recover your computer, back up the DRM-protected data with its own backup tool if you can start Windows.
If you do not back up the DRM-protected data with its own backup tool and recover your computer, the DRM-protected data may not be restored properly.
Notes on using the Rescue Data function
- Handle rescued files with care to protect your data from unauthorized access.
- Keep Recovery Media in a secure place to prevent unauthorized copying of your data on the internal HDD/SSD, because Rescue Data can be launched from the Recovery Media.
- Rescued files that are not encrypted on the internal HDD/SSD can be easily accessed by unauthorized users using Recovery Media. To protect rescued files from unauthorized access, set a password for power-on or for the internal HDD/SSD or use the Windows encryption feature for the internal HDD/SSD.
- Disable the Windows encryption feature for the internal HDD/SSD before using this software.
