VAIO Hardware Diagnostics
VAIO Hardware Diagnostics is a utility program that helps you to determine
if a VAIO computer problem is related to the hardware or not.
Computer problems can be caused by a number of factors including the hardware itself.
Software programs installed on your VAIO computer or their settings could be a cause as well.
As the first step towards solving a computer problem, let's check if the hardware has any problems by using this program.
These tests only check certain features.
Even when no errors are reported, this test will not provide 100% guarantee that the tested device is working without any problems.
The fact that the diagnostics tool finds errors does not endorse you to a repair without some proper troubleshooting being done.
Troubleshooting still might be required prior to a repair.

Run the "Quick Test"
Click the [Run Test] button to start the "Quick Test." The tests start automatically.
A progress bar indicates the progress of the test. The test takes about 5 or 6 minutes.
When the diagnostic test has completed, one of two test result messages is displayed.

If this message is displayed, your computer hardware is working correctly.

If this message is displayed, one or more components of the tested hardware are not working properly.
If there are any hardware devices that were added after the purchase of your VAIO computer,
please remove it and perform this test again.
If the error message persists,
please call the Technical Response Center for further assistance.
About the "Fixes errors on the hard disk." option
If you check the option "Fixes errors on the hard disk." on the setting screen, data on the disk may be lost when errors are detected.
When you make a recovery, it is recommended that you take the following steps.
1. Bakup data with Rescue Data.
2. Run VAIO Hardware Diagnostics.
3. Recover your system.
