What does Each Tool Do?

You can use the following functions.

• Start advanced recovery wizard
  You can select from various recovery types: restoring your computer to its factory condition, dividing a drive with partitions, or deleting recovery contents to increase the free space on the C: drive.
• VAIO Hardware Diagnostics
  You can check devices such as the CPU, internal HDD/SSD, or memory module to ensure they are working properly.
• Rescue Data
  Rescue Data saves the data on the internal HDD/SSD to an external hard disk drive or removable media when Windows does not start.
• Wipe and Erase Data
  You can remove data completely from your computer. This is convenient when you want to dispose of your computer or give it to others.
• Support and contact information
  You can view contact information and your computer's information such as model number and serial number. If you have previously created VAIO status report using VAIO Care on Windows, you can also check previous VAIO status report.

Note

When you start VAIO Care Rescue using any other method than from Recovery Media, some items may not be available.
