Installing JBuilder 2005 Foundation

JBuilder 2005 contains a version of JDK 1.4.2 (which includes JPDA). You should use this version instead of any earlier version that you might have.

Note: You must have administration rights in order to install JBuilder 2005.

Installation Options

To install JBuilder 2005:

  1. If you have not already done so, unzip the jb2005_fnd_windows.zip file you downloaded.
  2. Close all other running applications before installing JBuilder 2005.
  3. Double-click install.exe to start the installation program.
  4. Read the information provided, then click Next.
  5. Accept the license agreement when prompted, then click Next.
  6. Choose the directory where you want JBuilder 2005 installed, then click Next.
  7. Review the installation options that you have selected. If the options are correct, then click Install to begin the installation.
  8. When the installation program is completed, click Done.

Installing Documentation and Additional Samples

The Documentation and Additional Samples for JBuilder are available as separate downloads from JBuilder Additional Software on the Borland web site.

Installing JBuilder 2005 Extras

To install the JBuilder 2005 Extras, you should also have at least 50 MB of available hard disk space.

To install the JBuilder 2005 Extras:

  1. If you have not done so already, download the JBuilder 2005 Extras from JBuilder Additional Software.
  2. Unzip the jb2005_fnd_extras.zip file you downloaded into the directory where you installed JBuilder Foundation. An extras directory will be created.
