Modifying the Live Symbolic Operator |
If you need to symbolically evaluate an expression in a particular way, use a keyword to modify the live symbolic operator. To do so:
Type the expression.
Press [Ctrl][Shift][.] to insert a placeholder and the symbolic equal sign.
Type a keyword in the placeholder or choose a keyword from the Symbolic toolbar. If the keyword takes a modifier, type a comma followed by the modifier. If there is more than one, type them separated by commas.
Press [Enter].
The symbolic processor returns a result based on the keyword you typed. You can symbolically evaluate this result further by using several keywords.

You can choose to hide keywords or the entire left-hand side of an expression. Right click on the keywords or the left-hand expression and choose Hide keywords or Hide left-hand side. Click outside the region to see the new display. Uncheck these options to make the expressions and keywords visible again.
