To evaluate the transform or inverse transform of a function, enter
the expression to be transformed and either:
Type [Ctrl][Shift][.] and the appropriate transform keyword followed
by a comma and the variable or expression on which to transform, or use
the Symbolics toolbar to modify the
live symbolics operator.
- or -
Choose Transform and the appropriate transform
command from the Symbolics menu.
Available transformations: Fourier, Inverse Fourier, Laplace, Inverse
Laplace, Z, or Inverse-Z.
Mathcad returns particular variable names when performing symbolic transforms:
Fourier transforms are returned in variable ω.
Laplace transforms are returned in variable s.
Inverse Fourier and Laplace transforms are returned
in variable t.
Z-transforms are returned in variable z.
Inverse Z-transforms are returned in variable n.
Notes:
If the usual return variable is used in the transformed
expression, the transform variable name becomes doubled instead: ω becomes ωω
, and so on. Apply symbolic substitution
to use a different variable or expression.
You can also evaluate Fourier transforms numerically.
